My wife is now giving it more thought. She likes the idea of getting rid of the subwoofer!

The only way I'd get rid of these is to step up to the Montis. But even that's very low on my list. |

Anyone moved from Maggie 3.7 to Montis/Ethos?
I set up the 3.7 in the room. They look and sound great to me. But the Lady thinks they look ugly and too big for the room. I am planning to replace with the Montis or Ethos.
Has anyone owned the MG3.7 before having the Logan? How do you like the hybrid vs full ribbon? |

As for the Logan hybrids, much easier to drive and with the Spire / Montis, respectable bass. Modern Logan hybrids have far superior bass to panel integration vs. the previous generation |

If I had the money available at the moment, I'd be seriously considering your Spires over my Theos. That said, I haven't heard them and I'm not sure if I'd love them as much as I love the Montis.

Hi all,
Just recently purchased a pair of ML Ethos and am VERY happy. Absolutely great sound, and no lack of bass (of course i don have a small listening room, however). These speakers are very efficient, and that shows as I am using an integrated, single-ended 24 wpc tube amp that will crank them as high as you could possibly desire! One thing I will point out, though, is that ANY blemish on the recording will stick out like a sore thumb! Even with FLAC, a track I was listening to on TIDAL had "artifacts" at certain points which can be quite irritating. Funny though: I find analog (vinyl and FM radio) a lot more forgiving somehow, and exceedingly pleasing I'm now experimenting with different power tubes to tweak the sound, and loving it!

Congratulations on your Ethos purchase! They are really tremendous speakers! And they are absolutely capable in the low end.
What really helps them seem more efficient than they are is that your amplifier need not be worried about frequencies below the crossover point with woofer driver as the Ethos employs a powered amp. That really makes the power draw a lot less than it would be otherwise--though I've never heard of someone using only 24w on ML speakers! I backed away from an MC275 because I was pretty confident that I would need more than 75wpc for my Theos. Fast forward a year and I'm not fully convinced (but I love my MC452 anyway). I absolutely hear you. Some of my favorite rock tracks are recorded horribly and sound like garbage on this setup. "Revealing" only begins to describe what these panels are capable of. Enjoy! |

Is the 24W sufficient for the Montis? How's the dynamic? Your opinion is greatly appreciated. Wanted to message you, but can't. Just signed up. Not enough posts. thx |

I just purchased a pair of Ethos to replace my golden ear triton 2 and I have to say it's not even close. The Ethos are much more transparent, smooth, detailed, and produce an almost holographic soundstage. The rest of the system ...
