I am content at the moment, but the Legacy Aeris is the price competition for the XR200.

Really, the Whisper is the most interesting one to me.

Exactly why the Signature SE will be so impressive. It will be safer to pit the Focus Se against the Xr200. Will ensure you the designs of both speakers are a more fair performance comparison.

Whisper XD I hope? That's quite a giant speaker width wise, and configuration wise.

XrT 150- tall speaker, in between 1k and 2k
OR
Xr150- point source, short, in between 100 & 200.

I know there's probably one... Somethings brewing!

What's the retail on the XR200 now? Someone is selling a used pair for $10k obo. I think it's too high. I'm having a tough time finding a used price on these.
For some reason McIntosh does not promote their speakers, which, I'm sure, cost an arm and a leg to design and produce.

Never heard the XR200 or any Mc speakers myself. I can only say that they (XR200) do not seem to be a big seller. At all. May be the reason hard to find these speakers used. FWIW, I have talked with my Mc dealer about these speakers recently and he much much prefers the sound of XR100 and XR50 to the XR200. Just sayin.

I don't know current retail, but 2 years ago it was $22k.

I got the same story about preference between the XR50, XR100, and XR200.

These speakers are designed in an anechoic chamber and measure exceptionally well. That's McIntosh's thing; measuring exceptionally well.

Taking away the price, the speaker line gets better as you go up in model numbers. I think.. The XR100 is the "goldie locks" version when price is considered.

If you want a "flavor" to the "sound" go for the XR50 or add a MEN220 to the others and voice the speakers to taste.
