MCD500 Owners...Are you spending less and less time with your vinyl??
Since I received my McIntosh MCD500 SACD/CD player in April, I have experienced a considerable drop in the amout of time I spend listening to my vinyl. I love my turntable and the whole act of grabbing a record and putting it on the platter for a spin, but the convience and most importantly THE SOUND of the MCD500 is winning out.
Put simply, my digital now routinely trounces my analog setup. It is spurring me to step up my analog rig to close the gap. I am expecting a VPI SDS speed controller to arrive today and I will upgrade the arm/cartridge this summer. anybody else experiencing the same thing? the MCD500 is an amazing SACD/CDP!!!! Jason

I spend a even amount of time with each of my systems- one is for analog playback and the other is for digital playback.
This year I've decided to get a new LP12. So far, I've put more than $10k into my new vinyl setup and I'm having lots of fun playing records again. It's sort of like having the best of both at the same time.

Exactly. Kudos to McIntosh. They have taken the 'digital' sound out of digital
 . And I'm a happy camper. My turntable is getting lonely these days!!!

And bravely I enter the Mc turntable world.
Have ordered the MT10 lightshow. Will give it a serious spin when gets here in 6 weeks. BTW, have integrated the new MCD500 into my system, and just breaking it in. So far, prefer the MDA1000 sound, but the MCD500 sound is improving. Last edited by mac11; 05-27-2009 at 06:26 PM.

Will give it away to my Dad later
The MCD500 or MDA1000/MCD1000 combo will be his next year.
Trying to build up an all Mc system as a gift to him, as an appreciation for all the support. Think MCD500 wud be better for its simplicity and diverse functions. Feel my MCD1000 to be a bit quirky.
