Default C2500 stuck in tube warmup mode

Any ideas why my C2500 is stuck in tube warm up mode when turned on?

Pushing the power button, even holding it down does nothing, and it requires me to turn the power off at the wall.

This fixes the problem but then next time I try to turn it on it sometimes gets stuck in Tube warm up mode.

Have you tried resetting the processor???

Reset of Microprocessors

In the unlikely event the controls of the C2500 stop functioning, the microprocessors can be reset by performing the following:

1. Press and hold the STANDBY/ON Push-button for approximately ten seconds and then release.

2. To switch the C2500 back On press the On STANDBY/ON Push-button.

Note: This can be performed with the C2500 On or in the Standby Mode.

Best Sir,

Bob

Best Sir,

Bob,

I have a C2500 and that only happened to me once, but good to know if it happens again, and the disconnect and reconnect of the power cable doesn't do the trick!

It happened again but the Holding ON the standby/on button for ten seconds didn't work.

Only removing the power chord and reconnecting it works.

Seems to happen after a day or two with not being powered on, so easy fix is to leave it on or to make sure I turn it on at lest daily!

My C1100 actually did that yesterday evening -- first time ever. It caught me off guard --and immediately thought, damn what are my options.

I stared at it for a short period of time pondering a plan of attack. Instead of turning it off & waiting a few & then turning it back on, all I did was manually adjust the volume knob -- which was displaying a low teen level (16 or 18 or thereabouts) and turned it so it showed a volume level of 25 or so.

Presto -- tube warm up display extinguished and I loaded a CeeDee & back in business.

I'm not saying this procedure will address your issue -- but definitely give it a try at your next occurrence & please let us know if this procedure also resolves your issue should it reoccur.

Best Sir,

Bob

P.S. I'll call Chuck Hinton at HQ and let him know this is a possible intervention with "stuck" in Tube Warm Up .

You can try the below. It worked for me.

a. Disconnect the AC power.
b. Remove the bottom cover – Yes turn the unit over.
c. Locate the main microcontroller. It is the square IC approx. 1cm across on the control PCB.
d. Locate the two buttons adjacent to the microcontroller labeled “PROG” and “RESET”.
e. Press and hold the “PROG” button while also plugging in the AC power cord. This will take some dexterity.
f. Hold the “PROG” button for at least 10 seconds to properly load the default boot loader.
g. After 10 seconds remover the AC power cord and release the button.
h. Re-apply the AC power once again.
i. The unit will be on – sort of… The front panel display will be dark and all the red LEDs will be lit. This is expected. The unit is now in update mode and should accept the firmware update.
j. NOTE: When the update software is run and the unit is discovered, the attached device model will be listed as “unknown”. This is expected. Just answer all prompts in the affirmative.

When its happened in the past, there's been absolutely no response from any of the dials or buttons.

Power off at wall is the only thing that has worked for me.

Good to know but sounds rather extreme. Maybe if the problem gets worse. Thanks.

Oh shucks. I was hoping anyways.

Should it happen again -- what's plan B? Contacting your dealer or HQ for a RMA for a thorough checkup?

Best Sir,

Bob
