Actually, that kind of customer service slowly dried up 20 years ago at McIntosh. It hasn't been the same since.

In all fairness to McIntosh, this is the first time I've ever heard of a DOA preamplifier in near 30yrs of owning the brand.

I have had other McIntosh pieces in the past with no issues so I did not expect DOA preamplifier.

"Depressing day" is bombs dropping on your house, no food to eat, no clean water to drink, being sick and not having access to healthcare, loosing your loved one. Everything else is just a minor glitch in the harmonious matrix.
The preamp situation will be resolved.

Dan.......I think I would be asking for a refund and considering a different preamplifier.

It's my understanding that it normally takes about three days to receive items from McIntosh headquarters. Perhaps it's time to move forward.

Just because you didn't see damage to the shipping carton does not mean it wasn't mishandled. To me, since it did not sit level that means the chassis is bent. That thing was dropped.
