I’m all for the sharing of relevant data between agencies - especially mental health records during the approval process.

There is a fallacy that increased gun control will result in less crime when in fact, the opposite occurs.

Exactly!!

All these "controls" are taking away rights for law abiding citizens. There are 1000's of laws on the books already.

Ive been self-employed in the gun industry since August 1st 1997. I can tell you first-hand, that background checks are a complete waste of time energy and effort. We don't need to know what someone did in the past, we need to know what they're going to do in the future, and that's obviously impossible.

We can clearly see the socialistic agenda the Democrats are pushing, they don't try to hide it anymore.

The only thing keeping us from socialism is the Second Amendment, we need to be disarmed for them to take this country where they want to go.

The entire United States already has mandatory background checks on all firearm sales from retail gun stores. Now they want background checks on private sales as well, which, using my state as an example, becomes a registration for all firearms.

My state has mandatory background checks and registration for every sale, private or from a gun store. The state of Connecticut knows every single gun owned by every single person in this state.

Background checks are simply a way of knowing who has what, and we all know what happens after registration...

Anyone who believes universal background checks will prevent any mass shooting, probably also believes that cables make a difference.... Just kidding....

Am an NRA life member, life-long hunter and competitor. Have no problem with magazine capacity restrictions and universal back-ground checks. As a hunter who believes in the 'sport' of hunting, I would like to see semi-auto rifles banned from same. Also, have a huge problem with the top echelon of the NRA since lame-lapierre took over. He and his self-serving cronies have turned the NRA into a super PAC with the primary aim of rewarding themselves with members' money. Am hopeful that the NY state AG's investigation will result in the whole crew of them going to jail so the NRA can get back to its roots of supporting competition, hunting and gun ownership & training. Am so tired of the NRA begging more money from members in order to line their own pockets.
