Wilson Sasha officially replaced WP8 in their website. All information according to "pre-launch".

FYI ... WP8 are selling at S$25k, mint, used or otherwise. However, its not snapped up as as quickly as expected, unlike the WP7's which somehow has a market still. Strange.

Hello Jerry,

Don't you think it's a lot about marketing, creating quickly another speaker less expensive and with features of the bigger Maxx etc...

This would only mean that WP8 did have sales issues only because of their (high) retail price.

I want to listen to Sasha WP when it will be possible (my dealer told me after the summer), but I guess it could be th same non-evolution than 1201/1.2KWs, sonically I mean. Even with different components.

Anyway I really love more and more the WP8s, they dramatically improved my listening sessions.

Best regards my friend.

Jean-Marc.

Indeed sometimes its all about marketing, akin to the Mc1201/1.2Kw as pointed out.

Its how we as consumers would be led to believe what the price differential and the urge and desire to own could be satisfied.

Somewhere, somehow, someday, the chase had to stop and the time to just sit down and enjoy the fruits of our labor had to begin. Surely, your system, my friend, is one who can really look, admire and enjoy! And I do believe you would for many years to come!

Cheers!

The name is great but the performance is even better. This 412lb, $21k beast will reproduce a pipe organ at full volume, (16Hz).

What should one get to power it? A MC402 in mono mode? A 1.2kw? A MC2kw?

I'd probably use a Bryston 28B SST2 on it. 1800w into 4 ohms before clipping, 2000VA power supply, +/- 90v supply rails. That may be enough... At $16k for a pair ($8k single amp) it would be a reasonable compromise.
