Great Demo track
While rocking last week, I stumbled upon a great track to show off your system setup. If you have things time aligned and the low end dialed in, warm up your system, turn it up louder than normal and queue up :
‘CHOCOLATE CHIP TRIP’ from Tool - Fear Inoculum It is a little electronica, a lot heavy rock but absolutely mind blowing with a HUGE sound stage. In my room, with my eyes closed, it offers 180 degrees staging. I have added it to my demo playlist and may simply have to listen to it once a week just for fun. Turn up the volume!!!

Great Demo track
Absolutely!!! I love this Tool album and every time I listened to Chocolate Chip Trip I thought it was a cool track to cleanse the aural palette between the epic tracks, using earbuds and Bluetooth portable speaker while working.
That all changed once I listened to CCT on my big rig!! REL acoustics flew a rep to my house to fix my subs and dial them in, of course he used a bunch of great bass tracks, one of them was CCT. I was blown away sitting on my couch when the sound stage “wrapped” around me, sounded like I had speakers directly to the sides of my couch!! (By the way this very young REL rep really knew how to dial in a system, very well trained by John Hunter, dialed my subs and mains in to perfection - spent 2 days doing so!) Glad it’s not just me (and REL rep) that hears this. I told my dealer about this track while we were listening to his amazing sounding system but it failed to wrap around to the sides in his room, probably because he uses stand mount speakers.
