I now have better clarification on why the Ultra SS noticeably raises the quality of sound.

What I learned from Stillpoints, MN is when installed on the speaker the sound is neutralized by the 10 ball bearings within the Ultra SS versus the sound channeling through the spikes into the floors then walls depending. For Ultra Mini’s, Stillpoints recommend at least a quarter turn to not seat flat.

This may sound weird, but if you grab the Ultra’s when tunes are playing you can feel this occurring.

Of course, I installed everything on the gear first, then Ivan clued me in placing these on the speakers, so I changed out a set from my second system and installed them on my speakers after buying inexpensive adapters for the trial, they are not moving until I figure out if the Wilson Alexia’s are soon moving in.

I have done this before with great success.
This is what I may have to do as I will be utilizing the rake on the ML 13a's.

Stillpoints have now been installed under all electronics. I found some time on Thursday and have had a couple of days of listening, and the difference is quite clear: I hear more detail, especially on vinyl, and tighter imaging. Definitely a worthwhile upgrade from the Rollerblocks and Sort Kones. Thanks to Dan for the review and Ivan for the sweet deal, and to all you converts for the steady drumbeat that finally convinced me to try Stillpoints.

Tony.......Good to hear there is a performance gain with the Stillpoints. I had doubts I would hear any improvements going from Symposium Rollerblock Jr's to Stillpoints, but the increased sense of space around instruments and voices was undeniable. If your experiences parallel mine, you will continue to hear deeper into a recording and discover a wider and more three dimensional sound stage with Stillpoints under your components.

For those who've owned Symposium products and now using Stillpoints; can the two be used together?

I purchased the Stillpoint Ultra SS for my Martin Logans. Will be getting in a week or so.

In my setup I have 3 Symposium Ultra Platforms that hold MC452/ VPI TT, and C2600.

Under the amp and preamp I am using double symposium couplers. Would Stillpoints be effective under the gear on top of these platforms? Most here seem to really like the Stillpoints.

http://www.symposiumusa.com/ultra.html

Not familiar with Ultra SS. I will be soon! I bought these based on this thread! And wanted to improve my new speakers.

Congratulations on the Ultra SS for your speakers!

As to your question regarding Symposium platforms, I replaced Rollerblock Jrs with Stillpoints in my main system, but still have Symposium Svelte Shelves with Couplers in another system. As I understand it, the purpose of the Symposium platforms is to isolate, but also to dissipate energy from the components. The Couplers are supposed to provide a solid connection between component and platform to ensure the energy is drained from the component to the platform, which then dissipates the energy. Putting Stillpoints between component and Symposium platform seems like it would defeat that purpose. I suppose you could try them under the platform, not sure if that would have any benefit. Since you have 8 on order, before you put them under your speakers you could try a set of the SS under one of the Symposium platforms and see if it makes a difference.
