Must say I'm enjoying these speakers....the ARC sure does change the bass response... going to try some Wireworld Eclipse Silver 7 cables , as they seem to gather great comments here.
Damm these things will play loud without breakup...being away from the cities necessitates trusting what respected listeners write, and trying to take advantage of their experience. A fun journey...))

Max, for cables, many of us love the Audioquest for true neutrality. For digital cables, I do like the WW for a mass market cable. I use their optical as well as their ethernet. I do however still like the AQ Diamond USB cable. Just other options to check out. Good luck and enjoy.

Thanks for the info...will be looking for some Digital cables soon, once I figure where I'm going to move my equipment rack to. Got some 7M Balanced cables to run from the preamp to the power amp, in order to get the source components away from the speakers and possible vibrations. Also connected my Sanders Magtech today, and must say it sounded good....maybe a bit of overkill as regards power, but I'm going to leave it connected a for a few days and try to get a better idea of where it stands vis a vis the Pass Labs.

Also need to get some damping in my room, as the walls are quite bare and it's too live ...a lot of tweaking ahead, but it will be fun, if frustrating!16' Ceilings and hardwood floor, with no basement...not completely friendly to a softer sound!!
Thanks
Carl

Although I have Audioquest Hurricane power cords and their Fire XLR interconnect cable, in a direct comparison between the Diamond USB and Wireworld Platinum, I definitely prefer the WW Platinum.

Question 3F vs 5F?

Is the 5F worth the extra dollars vs the 3F? I ask this because, to me, the only reason to shell out the extra dollars would be if the 5F offered significantly deeper and better bass response. But even Paradigm only rates the 5F as going 2dB lower in bass response. Or is there a big difference in bass impact and weight? Has anyone compared the two? Quite a difference in price.

I spent a couple of hours at my dealer earlier this year comparing the 3F, 5F, and 9H using a Bryston BDA/BDP3 and 4B3. My preference was the 5F.

The 3F seemed much too forward in the mid range and light on bass while the 9H is simply too cost prohibitive to me.

The 5F with the extra bass driver sounded more balanced and is the sweet spot in the lineup in my opinion.

It is now on my upgrade list. 😁

Kal Rubenstein, who posts here on AAf, has a review of the 5F in the latest issue of Stereophile. He was very positive, to say the least.
