Got my 9H's last week, and so far am very pleased. Purchased a Pass Labs 30.8 to power them, and am breaking everything in ...will run the ARC eventually and see what effect it has. Amp seems like a good match initially....time will tell..

Default Cables

Interested in some cable suggestions for the Persona 9H speakers. What are those of you who own these using?
Trying to keep the cost reasonable...a second mortgage isn't in the cards!..))

In addition, is there anything to gained from bi-wiring these speakers, given the woofers have their own amplification?

I would think you would want to bi-wire, but maybe not bi-amp them. I’m using WW series 7 silver eclipse SCs for the 7F speakers.

Even though they aren't my favorite speakers for reasons I've posted elsewhere, the best I've heard them sound was with Audioquest cables. I've heard them with a variety of the major brands and feel that the neutrality of the AQ cables helped with the extension and were much less fatiguing than other's I heard them with. The WW were pretty good also, but they have a new series 8 coming out. I personally would stick with all copper and bi wire them. That's the way most have demo'd them for me. Enjoy and have fun. It will be interesting to hear your thoughts on using the ARC vs not. I am not an advocate of any digital correction as I always hear a digital haze. If you are able to set them up in your room and have a good sounding room, I wonder if you will like that better. Will be interesting to hear your thoughts.

Haven't heard the Persona series but the signature series was always a good match with WireWorld. Bi-wiring won't hurt and is usually a minimal added cost, so go for it. I would check out the WW Ecplise or Silver Eclipse if budget allows.

I don't own the Persona's, but I owned WW Silver Eclipse, and auditioned in my system Shunyata Sigma, Audioquest Oak and Redwood, Audience AU24 SX, and Clarus Crimson. I preferred the Clarus Crimson, followed closely by Audience. I purchased the Clarus Crimson and I'm very happy.

I'm curious what should be the gain in bi-wiring , given the woofer amplification that the speakers have. Any thoughts on the difference between a system with regular bi-wire vs an amplified bass section that can be bi-wired? I would think that the effect would be minimal in the 9H speakers, as opposed to a regular speaker. Any thoughts on this? Those of you with the experience on this care to comment?

Thanks

The Persona’s should come with the silver metal jumpers. Those should be all that is necessary to effectively “bi-wire” them. You could cable the speakers with and with them and test it out.
