Cartridge alingment geometry, what do you like?
I've been somewhat obsessed with cartridge alingment the last few months. The smallest changes to cart and tonearm alingment really do make a difference. What did you choose for a cart alingment geometry and why? Barewald? Loefgren? Other?

When I had the Feickert protractor, I tried both and preferred the Loefgren in the long run. It just sounded right to my ears with the table/arm/cartridge at the time. I think the new one includes Stevenson as well as the other two. https://www.musicdirect.com/analog-a...gaAlGUEALw_wcB

 A picture is worth 1000 words. Loefgren B for me. Lowest distortion over more of the record surface. X axis is mm from the spindle. I use a Feickert protractor and validate with test gear. This graph from Analog Planet but originally developed by Wally Malewicz of WAM Engineering. The inner grove is at 60mm and most of my records don't go that far in. If I listened to a lot of classical I might try the Stevenson alignment.

Rega has a proprietary alignment that is close to Stevenson. I had to really twist my cartridge in the headshell to get everything to line up for Loefgren B when I replaced my Elys cartridge.

The best protractor I have used by far is the Uni-Protractor I bought from Germany. About $600 and well worth it. Has a whole slew of different mirrored protractors for different geometries, e.g. Baerwald, Stevenson and Lofgren, etc. They will also make custom mirrored protractors to your specificiations. IMHO, this protractor is superior to the Feickert.
