I think some of it may be venue specific. Here in the Pacific Northwest, we have two great outdoor concert areas....I was lucky enough to see Gregg Allman, Steve Martin, 2cellos, piano guys, and of monsters and men between the two concert arenas
All better live than on CD. However it sucks that some people's definition of good music means louder music Ymmv though

Live concerts are like going to a college football game. It's a big hassle. Lots of of rude, frequently drunk people, and expensive. But, there's just something different about seeing it live.
I, too, shun large arenas and stick to smaller venues. That means I also miss the really big names that draw large crowds. I'm more than okay with that. I hit about 6 or 8 a year. Next one for me is Rhiannon Giddens in a venue that holds less than a thousand. Regardless, my ear plugs will be in my pocket. |
