La Petite Bande, Sigiswald Kuijken   This collection is always in rotation. We simply love these minimalist interpretations of the Cantatas. The 5.0 as well as the stereo SACD layer are consistently good. We support the ensemble since they receive less support from the government.

Benjamin Britten / Mieczyslaw Weinberg - Violin Concertos
Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, Mikhel Kütson Linus Roth, violin  2 marvelous works, played very well by a young rising star. We saw him live a while ago, and he's brilliant. Fine 5.0 recording.

 Robert Casadesus, piano Weber: Konzertstuck Mozart: Piano Concertos 24 & 27. Medici Masters, 2007 I saw that this was recommended for the Weber: Konzertstuck. Romanus Hubertus conducts the Cologne Radio Symphony Orchestra on the Weber.

This afternoon...
Berlioz: Symphonie fantastique, Op. 14 Utah Symphony Orchestra, Varujan Kojian  This recording is a sonic treat. The dynamic range is tremendous and the bass drum in the last two movements might shake your room. Oh yeah, the performance is good too.
