A common sales tactic for drug dealers. Give the customer a 'taste', and they will buy.

I tell my local dealer that he's my crack dealer all the time. He laughs, he knows I'll be upgrading whatever I just bought soon. Ugh.

Nobody in our transaction is as cute as that picture. If saw that picture early I may buy without trying the gear.

Hi Jim,

I decided to take the plunge. I took delivery on some 501 mono amps a few weeks ago and just ordered the 520 preamp today. Right now I'm running straight from the K-01 to the 501's and I am already loving the purity of sound, ease, speed, dynamics and bass control. Can't wait to hear what the 520 adds to the equation.

Best,
Ken

Thanks Carlos! It's going to take some time to get everything in place, broken in and tweaked up. I'll let you know as it comes together. Cables will be next up after this gear is in place. I'm probably getting Kimber Select as they are a great synergistic match with Raidho. I'm fortunate to have some very knowledgeable people who own both Soulution and Raidho helping me put this together.

Best,
Ken

Congrats Ken on the D3's and the 520. I think you'll love the combo.

Let us know when the big day is!

Thanks Le Roy! I'll let you know when it all comes in. Likewise with your new gear, ok?

Best,

I have read some are reviews on the 5 series stuff that says it sounds better than the 7 series stuff. I will be interested to hear what difference the 520 preamp makes.

Quite essentially why I chose using FMA pre with 710 last time - Infusing nice warmth and organic touch/humane feel to it. Looks like they've revised it to be quite the perfect combo now. Can imagine it is sounding awesome together with your 611x driving X2s. However, when I did it other way around, i.e..Soulution amp w/FMA pre, I encountered some gain problem (high gain out on FMA pre, and no gain adjustment on Soulution amps). Cyrill 'Soulution' was then to custom made me a pair of XLR attenuator plug (-15dB) to be used on amp's end, and all ends well.
Sorry Bvdiman hasn't seen your question.

My room measures 18' W x 25' L x 11'+ H
