Ah yes, I must have mentally lapsed when realizing your location..

Yes, an adapter is what you will have to use and that is fine.

to further complicate things, the dark grey cord that Shindo ships with 230V components (terminated with Schuko plug) appears to be quite different to the thin/flat light grey cords shipped with 110V components (NEMA plug)

My Mr.T came with the dark grey Schuko cord for connection to wall outlet (where I am using an adapter/universal powerboard), and 2 thin grey NEMA cords to replace my old Shindo Schuko cords, as the outlets on the Mr.T are NEMA.

are there any sonic differences between the two types of cords? must admit that I haven't tried comparing them

No idea about sonic differences. I did try other power cords and went back to the stock one as it was MUCH better.

Got a photo of the one you received with your shindo?

Default Shindo Mr. T

I said, "Uh, oh," when I read Jack's review of the Mr. T. I have an all Shindo system (inc. a couple of Mr. T's) which Jack led me to believe I could improve with an Audience power conditioner and chords. I started with the AR2T and the e chord which has evolved into an AR6TO and Au24 powerchords. After much trial and error I am very pleased with my digital source components and the Giscours connected to the AR6TO via the powerchords and the GM70 amps and petite Latours drawing life from the Mr. T also via the AU24 powerchords. Big improvements to my ears over everything coming through the Mr. T with Shindo chords. I knew this verged on heresy, but when Matt Rotundo visited to replace my TNT with the Shindo 301, I had him give a listen to the system using both the AR2T and the Mr. T. He said no negative thing as I first experienced the wonders of the 301. And then Matt asked if he could run everything through the Mr. T with the Shindo chords. After rewiring and a good listen I asked him what he thought. He said, "It sounds more human to me." "There you go again," I said, "throwing around those audiophile terms."

sure,

the Nema cord, picture found on google, but the same as the two cords that came with my Mr.T, and from what I understand the typical Shindo powercord:

the Schuko cord with my old Montille, but the same cords were supplied with my other 230V Shindo components, and Mr.T:

As you can see, they are physically quite different - with the euro cord shorter, larger diameter, and different colour.
