Good news... Jack Roberts writes on the Shindo power conditioner...

This again proves Shindo components' synergistic effect. 1+1=3.

That's a bit of a weird review...for a guy who has an AR6T, I'd have expected better. What I got out of the review of the Mr. T was that he preferred the stock Shindo power cord to the Audience AU24. But he never compared the AR6T directly to the Mr. T with Shindo power cords on both.

As such, I read into that review that he likes the AR6T better than the Mr. T. I don't know if that's what he's trying to say, but the "read between the lines" part of my mind tells me that.

Perhaps one day he'll complete his thoughts about the Mr. T?

I thought it was pretty clear that he preferred MrT. If you go to Jack's Bio on the Dagogo site and scroll down to his current reference system he has the Mr T included as his power conditioner (and a brief summary where he states unequivocally that he preferred the MrT to his previous Audience and S.R. stuff)

Doug, thanks for that clarification, I also found Jack's review ambiguous when I first read it, but after reading his bio its quite clear that he thinks the Mr T is superior to the Audience and Synergistic gear, and much cheaper to boot.

It was clear that he didn't *hate* Mr. T...really, I just thought that the review could have been better written or perhaps, the audition better performed (it's unclear from the review which was the deficient element). Jack mentioned in his review the strangeness of describing a product in the conclusion - he is absolutely bang on about that. But I really found it odd to be reading a review that talked more about the power cords used, than the power conditioner under review.

The review just feels a bit unfinished. I know that he likes stock power cords with the Mr. T better than the all-Audience setup, but that's not a useful comparison. It should be taken for granted that most Shindo users are using the stock power cords...the comparison of value here is simply Mr. T vs. Audience power conditioners, with the usual stock Shindo power cables used in both cases, or do the same comparison with Audience power cables on a non-Shindo setup. The comparison made, just does not justify any conclusion on the sonics of the Mr. T. IMHO.

The review did pick up that the Mr T only really comes together if you utilise the Shindo stock grey cords...

We use a different power plug here ... the power plug standard used by Australia, Argentina, New Zealand, Fiji, Papua New Guinea and Tokelau (hmmm, why wouldn't have maybe just gone with the flow and used the European or USA standard) so can't use the original cable off the shelf unfortunately.

Has anyone re terminated the grey Shindo power cables... am keen to have a go at this but thought I'd ask as I am not a sparky so also unsure if this would cause other problems. If the supplied cable is the best match would really love to find out what we are missing out on.

Also has anyone tried their grey Shindo power cables on other gear to see if they are beneficial there as well?

thanks
Graham

Shindo would provide you the appropriate cord for the appropriate voltage.

... not entirely correct. As far as I know the power cord from Mr T to wall socket will be either a US or a Euro plug, and the Aus/NZ plug is not offered as an option. My cord has a US plug and, rather than re-terminate the power cord, I am using a US-NZ adapter to connect to the wall socket ... heresy?!

Voltage is all fine thanks Matt... it's just that our local power plug is physically different with a flat earthing pin and two flat pins forming an inverted V-shape above it... so my pre came with 2 power cables, the one that fits the power point (which isn't a Shindo unit and uses different cable) ... and also the original Shindo grey with a European (I think) plug on it... makes sense since our market is so small but with all the feedback that the Shindo grey power cable is best was just thinking I might try and see if I can re-use it...

just posted and realised tonyd has already updated with an option... might try the adaptor and compare the two... thanks for that... :- :-)

cheers
Graham
