Default Porsche 356 Made by Hand Documentary

Here is a documentary to enjoy over the holidays as the turkey fullness and laziness takes over and the couch is the only right place to be.

Really Cool Serge. In the early fifties my dad was stationed in Sindlefingen . He toured the Daimler Benz plant then . Fifty tears later we were able to go back (the Army was nice enough to let him in the base ) . We then went back to the assembly plant and he marveled at how much it had changed!

Thanks. Not seen before.
Put 200K+ miles on my '65SC sunroof coupe before the bottom half dissolved (NE & PA winters). The roof was so rare that when I sold it and purchased my '73 911 Targa I got as much for it as I had paid 10yr earlier. The shop cut the electric sunroof off and welded onto a freshly refurbished body. Not sure, but think they moved the VIN plate over, as well.

At 200k miles, I bet you got to know the 356 coupe very well Glenn.

Indeed. Some very fond memories. At ~140K I overhauled the engine (alignment check on the case, new bearings and a Mahle piston & barrel kit, mild head work). Was winter in Philadelphia (remember when we had real winters here) so I did it on my living room floor (ah, to young & single).
