Default NuForce Ref 9.02

Has anyone used these? What did you think?
I have a pair that ended up at my house from our church. I had never heard of them nor had I listened.
I did find a review that said they were mediocre at best.

Thanks for any feedback.

Played around with a set of the Ref 9.02s a long time ago when they were fairly new to the market. They were "hyper-detailed" and fairly edgy which is what made me move on. Supposedly, the SE version addressed that characteristic, but I never gave them a try.

I have the 9V3SE, they are very good, the best feature is the bass. Deep controlled authoritative. They are anything but bright, I have moved on in order to get some extended treble, but still hanker after the bass Ideal would be bi-amp? I haven't heard the V2, but did hear the 8.5's and they were absolutely terrible.
