It should be on your short list Bill. Stellar with the USB. I just plugged the CP-800 into the Mc 2301's. Wow. The 2301's really are amazing. They sound good with the CP-800 being fed via the USB. I certainly gain a whole new respect for the 2301's. They are incredible amps.

Mike.......A most enjoyable review of the Classe' gear. This should be perfect for the family room system. Your plan is beginning to come together very nicely.

Mike, great read while I'm burning in my new platinum usb cable. I looked long & hard at the CP-800, something about it just read right with the info I could garner on the net but then i started going around in circles

Mike- Glad to see you're enjoying your experience with Classe. I always found it very interesting that there were not many people on this site that had Classe gear in their consideration set.

I own the SSP-800 and the CA 5200. LOVE the combination. Plenty of power and the 800 handles anything I throw at it. For the price I paid (both of mine were demo's), nothing else I listened to came close to delivering the sound and excitement that I hear in this system.

Always liked Classe. Owned a DR-5 and a DR-6 mkII and they were beautiful sounding. Outstanding customer service too. Still remember dragging my wife to an audio store in Montreal one winter in the freezing rain when we were on vacation to go hear Classe. Store was closed. She remembers the trip well....

I cannot figure out why there is such a lack of interest/respect for their gear. I'm half tempted to buy a pair of CA-M600's since this darn CA-2300 sounds so good. I ran it for 2 hours tonight and it shines. The mid range is not as lush as my Mc 2301's, but other than that, it hangs with them. Bass is appropriate (not too much, not too little) and tight and the Strads like the extra juice.
