Unless the music was recorded in a studio using actual 24/192 equipment it will be the same as "full resolution" 16/44.

A lot of new classical and jazz are recorded in hi res pcm or DSD. Not so much popular music.

I use both, and find Qobuz has a better jazz and classical library, maybe not as good as Tidal for new popular music, especially hip hop, acts like Taylor Swift, etc. Qobuz also offers downloads for purchase, with serious discounts on hi res, if you subscribe to their annual Sublime package. Sublime+ provides hi res streaming up to 24/192, without any encoding like MQA. I also think Qobuz has a much better iOS app. The big down side is no Roon integration.

Well you've certainly gotten my attention! I listen almost exclusively to jazz and classical. Once in a while I'll put on some classic rock as background music, but it just doesn't float my boat the way it did in my younger days. I love the idea of being able to stream true hi res and don't give a damn about hip hop or popular music.

Sounds like good news for Classical music fans but not so good for popular and classic rock. At least hi res classical will help me sleep.

There is rock, pop and country on Qobuz, don't worry!
