Default "Pure Stereo" setting on MX150

Greetings,

I'm looking for a little more info on this particular setting. I know it takes the RoomPerfect out of the loop, turning off the "focus and global", but what else does it do? When is it best to use this setting? Does it even have a place to be utilized? Love to hear some feedback.

Thanks guys.

Scott

According to the manual (admittedly, nice looking but could have been better written): Note: The “Pure Stereo” Surround Mode, one of the additional options, bypasses RoomPerfect room correction and bass management circuitry. The Left and Right Front Loudspeakers are then expected to reproduce full range sound.

Thanks Mike. Do we know if it passes an analog signal as is? Or does it still convert it to digital?

The name "Pure Stereo" is a little misleading. ALL analog signals going into the MX150 are converted to digital...no exceptions!

Thus, when you feed analog to the MX150, it will be doing an immediate A/D conversion and then use its DACs to feed your amplifier(s). Therefore, the tone controls and volume are handled in the digital domain.

Why would analog signals be converted to digital?

MX150 is a digital preamp that runs at 24/192 in and out. It has a lot of analog inputs and outputs but everything in between is digital.

Thanks,

Thanks,
Like on Seinfeld, "not that there's anything wrong with that" - seriously, this is a bullet-proof component that does what it's supposed to. One thing I'd like, though, is that Zone B naturally follows Zone A, unless told otherwise. Seems minor, but live with it for a while, you'll see what I mean.
