WOW! New firmware for the FUJIFILM X-Pro1 and FUJIFILM X-E1 cameras
Run, don't walk, to your nearest computer and download the new firmware updates for your FUJIFILM X-Pro1 and FUJIFILM X-E1 cameras.
The improvement in focusing my X-E1 in low light is amazing. Download both the body firmware upgrades and the firmware for your particular cameras and lenses. I downloaded the 18-55 zoom and X-E1 body upgrades and there is really a dramatic difference in focusing ability.

It's notably better, but still not as fast as the 18-55, and never can be because the AF motor design in the 18-55 is fundamentally faster than the 35. I'm in a bit of a quandary with what to do with my 35; it's really a superior lens optically, but I hardly use it as I use the 18-55 85% of the time. One major reason is because the 18-55 is helluva lens; way superior to the standard "kit" lens from other manufacturers.
That 14mm, though, is an amazing optic. But I would agree with the Julian that the firmware upgrade made a BIG difference. My 18-55 and 14 prime focus as fast the OM-D now, which is really fast.
