RxJedi, your problem with your MC8207 sounded like my problem with my new MC205. The hum/buzzing sound drove me crazy especially in a rack which seemed to amplify the sound. My dealer has a large stock of McIntosh so they provided me with another new one that unfortunately did the same thing so I decided to switch to the MC8207 which was dead quite for me and I received a large check back since the MC8207 cost less. I thought I would miss the meters on the MC205 but I now actually prefer the lower light meters on the MC8207 in my darker HT system. I realize anything can go wrong with electronics and that is when it is great to know that your dealer will take care of the problem with as little disruption to you as possible.

I have never had a lemon McIntosh product. I did however have an used MR7083 tuner that had a dim LED. When I took the tuner to my Mac technician, he found that a previous owner had tried to work on the tuner. There was a wrong LED in place as well as some wrong resistor values. After he installed the proper parts everything was right as rain.

Never touched a McIntosh product since I trust they have got it together since that

I am the original owner of my MC2300 power amp. I bought it in college along with my C28 and MR78 in 1973 thanks to my high school lawn mowing business. Over the 46 years of ownership (I can't believe it is that long) it was repaired twice. Once in 1984 and once in 2006. I still use it in my living room system and it can drive the Mc speakers loud enough to make you deaf.

I have the same issue with my 205. The Hum Dinger took care of it when I had it in my old theater room. In the new theater room, the 205 is far enough away I can't hear it.
