Well I agree with you on the MC2102s in Mono Bridged. They're fantastic sounding and will be my last amps. They have the sound I'm looking for . Lush and liquid. Very powerful.

Nice review!!

Tom.......A most enjoyable Tuesday morning read. Thank you. Like many of the above posters, I have also owned the MC275, well actually three MC275's. The first one I ran in stereo, and the second two I ran in mono. The mono MC275's delivered an improvement in dynamics and bass slam over the stereo set up.

Although I have not owned the MC2102 I have listened to it in a set up with Quad speakers. I was very impressed with the way it sounded, although I never was able to embrace its look with the small meters and the big tube window.

I now own a pair of MC2301 amplifiers that drive Sonus faber Amati Anniversario speaker. For me, this is a match made in heaven. The MC2301 delivers a thoroughly convincing performance across the full frequency spectrum, and has dynamic range reserves to spare. The MC2301 amplifiers are my final McIntosh amplifier purchases. They truly are amplifiers built for a lifetime.

Years ago I possessed two MC75's, very rare 75 watt/ch Mac tube amps. I ran Dalquist 10's with them and they sounded great. I was young and in a moment of idiocy I traded them for a stereo SS MC2002. It was the worst mistake I ever made. Every time I read an article like this I remember with regret my old amps. My only solace is the pleasure that some lucky person is getting from my mistake. This was a great review.

But Dan, it was the 2102 that started the tube window design. . Now Mcintosh has 3 preamps and the 2301 with tube windows. In fact several audio companies are including tube windows in their gear. At night I just turn off the LED lights and the tube glow is very pronounced. Beautiful amp. Better looking than the 2301 IMO
