Default How to remove fuse on ARC REF40?

Hi,
I want to try audio grade fuse like Furutech or HifI Tuning Supreme,
but don't know how to remove the standard fuse. I saw fuse holder near
IEC input but it doesn't move when I turn it counter-clockwise. Do you know
how to do it ? Thanks

You just need to push the fuse holder in lightly and then turn as you are pushing in. The cap on the fuseholder has a bit of spring to it that locks it into place (similar to a medicine bottle).

Toga,

You may want to note ARC does not recommend substituing 'audiofile' type fuses.

Krell-diva,

is this true for all their products or just for the REF 40?

When I've contacted ARC in the past they have given me the same comment on both fuses and power cables... "We don't recommend it, but we don't recommend against it. You make these substitutions at your own risk. We [ARC] go to great lengths to test fuses and power cables for their sonic and engineering qualities and can only stand behind and recommend the accessories that ship with your unit."

See above. They are very easy to check/change/replace.

I have HiFi Tuning Supreme fuses in all my ARC gear. I would say the difference is equivalent to upgrading to a ~$500 range power cable from the stock PC; subtle, but noticeable.

Oh, what I said is not specific to the Ref40.
Just in general to ARC.
I tried once a Hi Fi Tuning fuse in my CD8 to me in added an edge to the sound.
ARC stance is they acknowledge the power cord upgrades, they use Shunyata, but stand by "you can't improve the sound" with tweaks to their equipment including fuse.
But part of the hobby is the experimentation.

Bill

Ok, will try to push and twist.
I have try many cords with it, all are better than stock cord.
From Anaconda CX. TR Power Link MM2. Oyaide Tunami GPX.
The best so far is RSA HZ Crown Jewel.
