A heavy, mass-loaded stand e.g., the Sound Anchors or Skylan stands filled with heavy materials.

A light & stiff, open-framed wooden stand with good mechanical grounding, e.g. the Tontragers or Resonant Woods stands is the way to go, IMO. The stand should be open at top (in other words, the top of the stand is perimeter frame, not a solid base) so that the cabinet's resonance is not impacted.

Gotcha.

As you know, living on the West Coast, we need to be mindful of earthquakes. That's why I've chosen to put my Harbeths on Sound Anchor stands and to decouple them with Sorbothane. In the event of a shaker, my stands will just slide around and keep the speakers in place, because of the sticky nature of the Sorbothane pads. I don't like the idea of my speakers being top heavy.

Fully understand....I live in the East Bay, so I completely understand.

Yesterday I placed 1.5" squares of beeswax cloth to couple my Harbeths to my Resonant Woods stands. Even with five small pieces of beeswax cloth between the stand and speaker (one at each corner, and one along the back rail), the speakers are very well coupled. They don't move around on the stands at all, I can put my hand on top of the speaker and push it and the stand together around on the MDF base I am using temporarily until my Herbie's Decoupling Gliders arrive.

The upside is the speakers sound fantastic when coupled to the Resonant Woods stands with the beeswax cloth...even better than using the tissue paper ()

No, the base of the stands is wider than the top, so it functions in some respects as a pyramid.
