Since you are in Canada, instead of grey market, I would recommend contacting Planet of Sound (Toronto) or Element Acoustics (Vancouver). Both are excellent dealers from my experience.

The fully supported warranty, service, lack of import duty, and 120V version is well worth, even given the excellent reliability and track record for Accuphase. A Japan import is not at all supported by Accuphase Japan either.

Best wishes,

Rene

P.S.: The DC37 is excellent. I tried or listened to quite a few DACs in the 10k range (Wavelength Cosecant silver, MSB Analog, Lampizator) and below (Chord Hugo, Benchmark, Weiss, Auralic). My top choices are the Wavelength (slight preference for Jazz) and the DC37 (preference for Classical).

It would be about four years the DC37 was released to market.
In that time, the demand for higher DSD above 128 is debatable, but certainly exists a lot more than it did then.

The perfection of course never ends, it would be expected the performance would be from the DP950 much the same as the DP720 was the basis for the DC37.

Wouldn’t be surprised if the DSD Rate climbed to DSD256 like the DAC50 and used the AK chip, not that means much but DSD with the AK chip is easier to implement than the ES.

I’m looking at the Accuphase Japan site and the press for any release dates on the successor, but of course no hints as yet, other models for Accuphase are coming quickly for amps mainly.

Accuphase usually introduce new models of digital gear every 5 years. There could be exceptions but I would expect a DC-37 replacement within the next 12 months and it should essentially be a DP-750 without the transport function.

For CD audio, has anyone compared the DP-430 to the DC-37? I curious as to direction I should consider.

I've compared DP-410 with DP-550, which was above the 410. TMO DC-37 is slightly above DP-550 and slightly below DP-720. However DC-37 supports more file formats than DP-720.
