As far as the dCS network bridge goes, they are both the same according to the specs.
2x AES/EBU on 3-pin male XLR connectors, each outputs PCM at up to 24 bit 192kS/s or DSD/64 in DoP format. Used as a Dual AES pair, the interface outputs PCM at up to 384kS/s, DSD/64 & DSD/128 in DoP format. 1x SPDIF on 1x RCA Phono connector, outputs PCM at up to 24 bit 192kS/s or DSD/64 in DoP format. 1x SDIF-2 interface on 2x BNC connectors, outputs PCM at up to 24 bit 96kS/s or SDIF-2 DSD/64. |

As far as the D1100 goes, I think the USB is the preferred?
Digital USB Input 1 (accepts PCM signals up to 32-bit/384kHz; supports DSD64, DSD128 and DSD256 plus DXD 352.8kHz and DXD 384kHz) |

I purchases my wireword USB cable from Ivan , sounds great. The USB cable will allow you as Serge pointed out to play true HD formats as well as the standard redbook and SACD (dsd64)

D1100 manual, pg.26. Coaxial, Optical and AES/EBU are 44.1Khz 24bit.
USB is the way to go. Does the dCS have an USB output or is USB input only? |

Thank you all for the quick reply.
The dCS NBR does not have USB output, may be the future firmware update would allow it. I currently have Wadia 322 DAC connected to dCS NBR via coaxial, and it can handle 192kHz. The D1100 is on order. Just curious AES and coaxial, which is sounds better. PS: the dCS works great with Roon Core on my MacBook. Thanks.

Digital cables for McIntosh D1100, AES or Coaxial?
There is a published report that states the dCS network bridge will be adding USB output capability (using the existing USB port) with next update by the end of the year.

They are the same specs but typically in the past I have preferred the AES myself by a small margin, that is including McIntosh
