Question again,
Current using king cobra cx for Meitner DAC
Python cx for CJ pre connected to hydra vray II feed to wall by king cobra cx
Anaconda CX for CJ tube amp
I would like to upgrade the python cx or anaconda cx to better but still want to keep the sound, just want it to be more dynamic and transparent, do you recommend changing the python cx first to ?????
I was thinking to upgrade the cx python to Zitron alpha HC, Can I use the current line with mine current set up CX?
Thanks again Caelin

The CX and Alpha/Sigma Series are very compatible. Which component you upgrade is more important than which cord to upgrade. You already have good cords. Biggest improvement to transparency would probably be the preamp with the DAC a close second.

Transport ??
- Alpha Digital

Meitner DAC:
- Alpha Digital

CJ Pre:
- Alpha HC

CJ Amp:
- Alpha HC

Also Caelin you think the current alpha digital will be better than my old king cobra cx on my front end.

yes, on digital components

The KC would be better on high current components, however. You would need to upgrade to Sigma to outperform the KC.

I think for my budget I need to look at the Alpha Digital for DAC and Blu-Ray. Just need one big check to come in!

Caelin: Above I see you recommend an Alpha HC on the CJ preamp. I was expecting the recommendation of the Alpha Analog for a preamp. Is this based on the pre being CJ or that of choice the Alpha HC is just a better pc? My interest arises from the intent to replace the pc to my MC C2300. I have 2 Alpha Digitals in my system but the C2300 is on a Zitron Cobra.

Thanks for the information.

Jeff

The Alpha Series cables are in a price sensitive range. Many people are stretching their budget to get them in their system. The extra cost of the Alpha HC over the Analog version can be significant for some people. Especially when you consider the multiple cables in a system.

The Alpha HC was recommended because it is going on a tube preamp which actually benefits from the extra gauge. And the fact that the cable it is replacing is an Anaconda CX which is a very formidable cable.

For your C2300 the Alpha Analog would be a good upgrade over the Cobra. However, the Alpha HC would be better if the extra cost is not an issue.
