Hi, Paul McGowan of PS Audio may be able to offer some help. He rebuilt his Infinity Reference speakers.
I experimented with several capacitors for the passive x-over on my RS1b's and settled with Mundorf. Cables also changed from Monster to VdH.
Hope this helps. Allan

Hi, When we worked on rebuilding the crossovers for our IRS V's, Arnie Nudell recommended the following list of components to us. I would suspect there may be some similarity it what you should use:

· Mundorf MKP capacitors
· Goertz foil inductors for the tweeters and midrange low pass filters
· Jantzen Permite core inductor for the midrange high pass filter
· Metal film precision resistors, using multiple resistors instead of single large wire-wound cement filled type
· Metal film resistors and a 12 position switch instead of the rheostats

Best of luck with your project. The change was a big improvement for us.

Larry

Imo definitely. Apart from the deterioration with age I found that other capacitors like Mundorf etc. are much improved.

I would speak with Bill Legall, owner of Millersound. Bill is a consummate craftsman and has experience with rebuilding the planar drivers on Infinity speakers. When I last spoke with him, he owned a couple of pair of IRS V's.
