looking for comments: would I benefit going from a B1 to the G1?

I don't remember ever hearing the B1 so I cannot compare the two for you. Jim |

I got a chance to hear a G1 last weekend, I was very impressed. I'm not a fan of subs, I've heard many subs in many systems and they usually just sound like BOOM-BOOM to me.
The G1 is the first sub I really like, it was a nice subtle musical addition to the system that didn't draw attention to itself. I never thought I would buy a sub, I'm seriously considering one of these to go with my small B&Ws.

I'm thinking about adding a sub, but have stayed away for many of the same reasons you have - room space, difficulty in blending it into my system, etc. But the G2 has my interest, and being able to use it without adding room correction software would be an added bonus. Thanks Jim. Would I be correct in saying that you were not dissatifiied with the G1 but rather found a better solution in the Momentum's?
A most impressive system, by the way. Well done. David |

Anyone owning REL G1 or G2 subs care to comment about the length of the speakon cables? I have two G1's and setting them up in stereo off of my MC601 amps. logic would tell me the speakon cables should be the same length as the cables to the main speakers from the amps, but i think I'd like maybe an additional meter to keep the subs in the corner of the room. A meter is most likely a ridiculous "moot" point but any input from an audience like you guys is appreciated.
Cheers, Ethan |

Yes. Moot point. Don't worry about the cable length. Much more important to get the subs located where you want them. Enjoy. I'm considering S3 or S5 subs. I want a wireless setup given my domestic limitations.
