Default SDS with Classic One?

Anyone here using the SDS power supply with a Classic One?
I would love to hear feedback if so.

I used to use an SDS with my Classic 1 when I had it. I thought the power conditioning aspect of it brought the most sonic benefit. The ease of changing platter speed with the touch of a button was much easier than moving the belt and you can get the speed set exactly. When I switched to a Classic 3 I found I preferred plugging it directly into my power conditioner.

If you have the newer Classic 1 with the wall wart, you can not use the SDS with it

Why is that? And would this apply to the Classic 3 as well?

On the other hand, the SDS will work with the upcoming Prime, in fact you can get them as a package deal.

Prepress, my SDS worked fine with my new Classic 3. I just preferred the sound I heard plugged directly into my power conditioner.

SDS works with the new Classic 3, different motor. Doesn't work with the newer 1/2 and Traveler with the switching power supplies.

Ok, just confirming. Thanks. I'm thinking about one more equipment "hurrah," perhaps next year, before I get serious and declare such things off-limits.

I have an SDS, which my current HW-19 is plugged into. I'd hate to waste it, so this means if I make the switch, it would be a Prime or Classic 3. I wonder if VPI thought about this when the Classic 1 was designed.

I thought the SDS could be used on almost all belt driven tables with a hysteresis motor.

From VPI:
Quote:
The newest versions of the Classic 2 use a 24V AC motor controlled by a built in frequency generating power supply. That is why the SDS need to run at 105+ volts to be feed it properly. To get full usage of the SDS, where you can adjust the speed using the front panel, you need to convert to a 115V motor and a straight power cord entry. We can do that for you, it is a $100.00 charge+shipping, but we woul need the table base balk here (no arm, no platter) just the base.
