Dan - that is a great idea, and would be a perfect redux to your "MC2301 amplifiers - Tube rolling 12AT7's" article! While I have no experience with any other tubes other than my stock mac tubes, I am so satisfied and completey enthralled with the sound coming out of my 2301s that I have no desire to roll anything else into them at this time. Ignorance is bliss I guess

I don’t have the MC2301 but having two MC275 Mk VI. After changing McIntosh tubes to KT88-Z, Mazda 5751 five stars silver plated and Brimar 6060 (12AT7) the sound is dramatic improvement. Hope this will help.
