I was just curious how it would sound if W.A had access to the Be tweeter from Focal. I love the Wilson Ti tweeter! It is one reason why I now own the Sophia 3.
I too like the Wilson Ti tweeters in my X2's.

I liked the Be tweeters in my Focals when I owned them but the tweeter that bettered those and the one in my Wilson's were the MBL.

Why I mention the Be tweeter is only because that (If I am not misinformed) the Ti tweeter was from focal. Focal moved on to the Be tweeter and with the success Wilson Audio have had with that Ti tweeter I suspect that Dave could have done magic with the Be too!

Ok....understand...

and the Sasha2 tweeter is not liked?

for your taste is the best tweeter of sasha1 vs. sasha2?

what the biggest differences / significant ?
I own the Sasha2 (first B & W802di) and when I bought the sasha2 there was no chance to take the series 1 ....... Sophia3 had increased in price a lot. the difference with the price of Sasha2 did not make sense to invest in a model Sophia.

I like my Sasha2 sound! a big upgrade from the 802di!

@ Stiil One: MBL tweeter is another another concept!

thank you

I do not know! Have not heard Sasha2/ Alexia. I would probably like them to since I like W.A's sound. The only thing that I do know is that I do like the Ti tweeter.

The Ti tweeter is from focal but Dave worked magic with it so it is not the same tweeter. It is substantially modified. Also in Jim's X2's it is twice as powerful as in the Maxx3. It is a remarkable tweeter. Be tweeters lack the low frequency response necessary to crossover with the Wilson midrange. This is apparently a property of Be and cannot be altered. Be is difficult to work with and this fact results in working the entire speaker design around the frequency response of the Be tweeter. Many Be tweeters are hot. There are so many reasons I love Wilson speakers. But the main reason is that Wilson provides absolutely precise/exact instructions for set up. There is nothing like on axis listening where you know you are dialed in. Other speakers like Magico which I believe uses Be requires possible off axis positioning to tame the treble of the speaker. But what does this do to the imaging and midrange? There are numerous reasons why I believe Wilson is the best speaker on the market.

Unfortunately I have to disagree with this statement.

Just my opinion. With the possible exception of SF I believe Wilsons are the best thought out speaker. I know many will disagree but if you enjoy on axis listening with an absolute recipe for speaker setup, IMO Wilsons are the way to go.

I agree in much of what You are writing. But I have a couple of other brands that also is favourites. In my opinion there is no best manufacturer when talking of speakers in this pricerange and higher. It is just a matter of taste.

I for one, also like Avalon speakers. Verity Audio to.

The few times I have heard at Magico has not turned my world up and down . Great speakers for some perhaps but not my cup of tea. Not yet anyhow. I have only heard the brand on a hifi show in Sweden and at a dealer.

The magico Q series is too sensitive to the matching hardware and they demand some of the better gear include cables and even power source to sing. Yes, I understand not everyone have the luxury to own the source, amps n cable that cost higher than the speaker. So it voice down to pay for what you can afford and don't compare. But when you don't own it before, it is not fair to say don't sound good. After all most dealer can't afford to get the gears just to match with the magico. They are out for a living and they need gears that is universal to drive other brand speaker too.

Opinion based on what? Not reality for sure, since there is nothing tangible to support your “opinion”. So now, your “opinion” becomes a “belief”. Magico is not in that business, they just know how to build superior speakers, not a religious movement
