Clearly though I may not have understood. I just ran across a picture of the Ultimate I took at RMAF last year and it still has the Rectifier tubes....This is why I listen and I do not design.

Here is the pic I took
From a post by Kevin Deal: "That amp is not 100% tube rectified, FWIW. It is partially tube rectified. Tube rectification is not the best way to do it in a power amp. In a preamp, yes. I much prefer tube rectification. In a power amp there can be voltage sag. I would suggest to you to change the 6922 tubes to something that is really a color that you like. That's where the rubber meets the road."

Are you getting the copper foil V-Caps?

I'm using them and much prefer them to the, IMHO, sterile sound of the Teflon only version. I bought an amp that had them in it and did not like them.
They do take 500 hours to settle in so be prepared for a wild ride until they do.

I just broke in my Moon Neo 430HA and it took a full 300 hours. Put on iTunes and let it rip...

Am very pleased with the MR series Clarity coupling caps in mine (did a complete recap, being 10yr old). Am very pleased with the results, though it did take several hundred hours for them to break in.

Give a call and ask. Their work-load varies, so depends on what is in front your SLI-80.

Well, my SLI-80 is on its way home after a total "Ultimate" upgrade.

VCaps, WBT's Greyhill, Hexfreds, etc. Nothing was left out! The only thing my unit does not have is the snazzy paint job. As a 2002 unit it has the classic basic black. It will be like the stealthy street rod gunning for your title!

Pics when it arrives.....

Naturally I leave for a work trip Sunday and the unit arrives Monday. Labor day weekend will be a fun one with my new toy!
