How long are MAC product lives usually?

I think they are basically upgrading all their amps with the latest generation DACs that are able to play DSD. I am not sure the MA5300 is radically different from the MA5200, likewise with the MA9000 vs the MA8000, etc.

But I could be wrong of course!

This looks like a nice upgrade to the 5200 by adding their new D/A module - the same one in the MA 9000.

As far as 4 or 8 ohms goes, unlike most McIntosh amps this one is direct coupled - no autoformers. It will run into 8 or 4 ohm, with more power available at 4 than 8.

I think McIntosh is building a very nice line of integrated amps.
