I'm guessing they want to push the idea 'if you have to ask then you can't afford them'. I really don't get it either. It just seems snobby to me. Just publish the darn prices!

Olympica I monitors are quite good at $6,500 per pair if their price hasn't changed. Although proper stands are required and an additional cost, but you could get by with less expensive ones than the $1,200 matching stands.

If you want a floorstander they just intruduced the Venere Signature for that specific price slot. And its built in Italy unlike the rest of the Venere range. But be warned that many will still not condider it a true SF design due to its lack of heritage. Next step up is the Olympica line which has received excellent reviews.

If it is true, than this is just crazy.
Most european distributors have complete pricelists available on their websites. A customer comes into the shop. - I like those speakers (Venere 2.5). How much are those ? - I can't tell you. It is a distributor's secret. But if you have to ask, then you probably cannot afford them anyway. Last edited by Elberoth; 03-10-2016 at 12:57 PM. |

Well, it's not THAT crazy, is it? It's supposed to be a free market with dealers/retailers competing for customers with pricing (among other things). It can be argued that MSRPs limit free competition when all dealers just set their retail prices according to the MSRPs. And with inflated MSRPs the dealer can always offer a "great deal" on a piece of equipment to an unsuspecting customer.
A lack of (published) MSRPs certainly won't stop a dealer from offering a product at any price they see fit. Now, having said all that, I do find it convenient myself when distributors publish the MSRPs. :-) |

Pricing is mentioned in most if not all reviews I've ever read, and discussed in many online resources. If you are interested in a particular product it really isnt that difficult to determine what its cost is. Lastly, all that really matters is the price you and the dealer agree on. Find what you want, listen to it, and negotiate. Having sais that... Its just plain weird and stupid that they dont publish pricing. Hell, even Magico publishes their insane prices and appear to be proud of it. The old "if you have to ask, you cant afford it" mentality died when the internet came of age. Its the Information Age, right?
