Hi guys,
Recently went on a buying spree and it started with upgrading a TT. One thing led to another as they say..... I now have the Audio Research Ref 5se and the ref 75 se. Itching hard to change my current speakers which is a pmc 24. Was looking at the SF evo when I chanced upon the magico and I'm cannot forget the sound I've heard from the S3. My question is whether my amps have enough juice to drive the S1? Have not heard the S1 yet but I like the small footprint (wife friendly). S1 or should I just go straight to S3? Speaker placement width at 2.5m apart at max. Should I just stick to the sonus Faber since the amps are of the same family group? My system is in my bedroom which is 6 x 5 m with padded walls and thick curtains Thanks! |

You have very nice amps, not sure they are the best to drive Magico speakers.
Best is to audition them with your own amp. (Sonus Faber will be easier to drive)

Thanks all. At least I can have the joy to start auditioning the amps/speakers... As a matter of fact the Ref 75se is on KT150s

I don't think so...
S3 will be easier to drive then an S1. Nothing comes close at that price, should work nicely with the ARC. |

duette 2 easy load to drive for ref 75.
steady 4 ohm load at all frequency ranges. stand-mounted and can be placed near wall boundaries. wilson is a very good match with arc. 'try' it. |
