If you end up with a black ref 5 and want to swap handles, let me know. I think the handle size is the same.
I see. Good idea.

Does someone knows the price of a new face plate and handles for a REF 5 ?
I found a second hand unit but it is all silver and I would like it in black.
Could you ask your local ARC dealer and tell me ?
Mine is in holidays.
Thanks a lot !
Prior to upgrading my LS17 to SE status a few months ago, I was very close to pulling the trigger on a used Ref 3 my dealer had taken on trade. Unfortunately it was silver and I wanted black to match my Ref 110. I spoke with Calvin and he said the new face plate would run almost $600 as they would need to have it made and didn't have any old stock on them. If they had it in stock, it normally runs $350. As the Ref 5 is a current model, they would likely still have them stocked. Though if it were me, I would spend the extra dough if possible and have the SE upgrade performed and choose your new faceplate color at that time included with the SE upgrade.

Cost for a Ref Anniv 40 which was identical is $450 for faceplate $50/handle and $60-80 for the knobs according to Kalvin on 12/20/2011.
