Default PureAudioProject Speakers

Anyone familiar with these fascinating PureAudioProject open baffle speakers? I’m interested in the Quintet Horns (with 4 15” woofers) but they are probably too big for my room. The Trio Voxativ’s (with 2 15” woofers and a full range Voxativ driver) would be a better fit most likely. I recently heard the Quintets with a rather exotic Voxativ field coil driver and they were quite impressive.

The speakers come in kits that appear to be easy to assemble. They are completely modular, so if I start with a Trio Voxativ, I can easily upgrade to a horn or a Quintet. You can get passive crossovers that use top shelf Mundorf parts or an active crossover designed by Nelson Pass. A cool speaker and very intriguing concept.

Anyone thoughts on these speakers?

I have rhe trio 15 horn and trio 10 voxativ.

Either benefit from better cables. You want the foils from Verastsr.

Air core chokes and better caps make the 10/vox more clean, clear and overall nice.

The silver gold foil to the 15/horn woofers and copper to the horn pick up the woofers and calm the horn for better integration.

All these speakers benefit from remote mounting the crossover. A nice calm comes out when reducing all that vibtation.

The trio 15 really improved when I sat them on very dense wood bases about 7 inches tall. The blocks are on 3/4" insulation. Bass is way better and the horn closer tonear height.

I just got my Quintet Heil AMTs. They are wonderful out of the box, but I have a whole bunch of tweaks planned. First up, I’m ordering a miniDSP 4X10HD crossover to triamp them with an old 6 channel McIntosh amp. I’m seriously considering the Voxativ PiFe driver as well. Wires will need an upgrade too, thanks for the suggestions.

How do you like the horn compared to the Voxativ?
