Stand tall my friend--don't believe all you are told-the Harbeths are great speakers-I used them with Shindo and it was a marriage made in heaven.

Thank you for the nice comments and the support my friends.
I am still shocked and do not realize exactly what is happening but my wife and I will fight against this with all our soul and energy and with G's will we will win.

David, Cyril : thank you for the Acoustic Revive recommendation. I read the article with a rather interested mind until I found the price. 10500 US dollars.
I wonder what Alan Shaw thinks about putting a 12.5k speaker ( that may sounds indeed like a 50k one ! ) on a 10k stand.
I also wonder what my friend Wladek Skr%#^$>*£$> ( sorry buddy your polish name is really too complicated for me to memorize ! ), boss of Pro Audio Bono, would think of all this.
I know what my wallet already told me about them : NO WAY !

Now listening to various digital files while bicycling and I am speech less about how beautiful the room is filled with Music. Those speakers sound is not only "NATURAL".
They are as involving as my Wilsons, but their musicality is at an other level. Like Shindo and Verdier, they take your full attention and stick it to the present time of listening and doing something else gets "complicated".

And yes, they pair wonderfully with the CCQ. My guess is that Sindo-san ( MHRIP ) precisely made the CCQ for these kind of speakers : easy impedance but low sensitivity.
But I could not manage to pass 20 W on the 2205 without hurting my ears so honestly, I think that the average power needed at normal listening is not above 5 W.
The CCQ have ample reserve for them. They are indeed the easiest speakers I own, along with the Devore Super 8's.

Jerome, hope everything will work out fine in the end.

Congrats on the 40.1. I'll only get better with some burn in.

Jerome . Big congrats ~!!! What did I say ? eh ?

I'm so glad you like the sounds. Well... Once you hook on the Harbeth sounds there are no way out. I do miss my Harbeth M40.1 BIG TIME.

Foundation Stands :

They are NOT the best for bass department but it helps on Mid and Boxy sounds like crazy.

Thank you Tommy.
I guess they are broken in already. They are a demo pair from a German dealer.
I jumped on them the day I saw the ad. They are very rare on the used market.
And in France, the waiting time when you order a new pair is 7 months !

Paul....

You were right BIG TIME my friend. They are fabulous. At any volume. There is no loss of compression or loosing anything at low volume. The sound stays full weighted and dynamic.

I understand now why the PMC's mids of your IB2i, although excellent, was still not on par with the one of the Harbeth's.
Oh boy those speakers SING !

I can think of analogy in my quest for the most natural sound with my story of amps :
MC275 - very happy but wanted more bass drive and impacts on big panels
MC501's - very happy with bass but missed the mids magic of the mids
MC2301's : Got both !
Replace 275 by PMC EB1i, 501's by Wilson WP8's, and 2301's by Harbeth M40.1 and you have the same story with my speakers.
But the Harbeths are more above the other speakers than the 2301's were on the other amps.
Never say never but I think I found my final destination.

Alberto: go for the little ones. You cannot go wrong with Harbeth. They are more than D E L I C I O U S ! They are a B E N C H M A R K for musical bliss at the same level as Shindo. Period.

Maybe you could make a set of stands, or hire a carpenter to make something nice up for you? Perhaps in Sitka spruce?
