Default Bluetooth multiple headphone solutions

Does anyone have any solutions for multiple headphone pairing from a mobile device (via bluetooth preferable)?

I have the MEE a multiple transmitter for home and it’s a great solution (for home), but want something smaller/portable for iphone/ipad so me and my girl can watch the same movie traveling with wireless headphones, or the same music while working out at the gym.

Unfortunately, stuck with Apple’s iOS.

Bluetooth 5 should allow dual audio but it seems apple disables it and you’re forced to use airplay (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208744).

I have read that through the Bose app you can use dual audio but I never installed it due to the previous security issues with using their App. I guess I’ll try putting it on my “burner” ipad (travel pad with just media on it and no contacts/email/messages sync’d). I hope it will work with anybrand BT device as I don’t want to buy another pair of Bose BT headphones.
