I am not finding an easy answer to the OP's question
Hi;
I am trying to decide whether it is better to use a power regenerator like the Torus RM 15+/RM 20 or a filtering solution like the Shunyata Triton 1 for 2 surround speakers that will be driven by 2 mono Class A/B amps putting out 4-500 watts to speakers operating at 4 ohms. I have read this thread, among others, and am a bit confused. Thanks for your thoughts! popspin |

Thank you.
The combination of Aquarius and P3 does really sound wonderful. I tired to install Aqurius between P3 and other components, but found that when Aquarius comes first (after wall outlet) the sound is a bit better. I suppose this is due to the fact that regenerator adds back it's share of power line noises and Aquarius removes it effectively. |

I'm pretty sure that the Torus units are not power regenerators, but basically isolation transformers. Some of them add voltage regulation.

Has anyone use a combination of the Shunyata Hydra Triton with PS Audio P10? Wondering if these two would provide the best of both worlds.

popspin.......The Torus RM15 and RM 20 are AC power isolation units, not AC power regeneration units. The RM 15 and RM 20 combine surge suppression with toroidal transformers to provide AC power conditioning and protection from voltage surges.

I use Accuphase PS520 successfully with most. But Pass Labs XS Pre sounded clearly worse thru it. XS Pre then had to go direct to wall. So I guess it depends.

I currently use two Chang Lightspeed CLS 709 power line filters with great results, in my main system and home theater.
Work much better than a PurePower 1500 AC regenerator. My audio is dead quiet, warm and 3D. The video is sharper with much brighter colors. The 709 has two outputs for mono blocks, and several outputs for digital and analog low power. Also includes surge protection fo lightning strikes, giving me peace of mind. |
