Wilson Pedestals
I'm thinking very seriously about buying three boxes of Pedestals. My Mac footers are 1". I would place three units under my D1100 digital pre, MVP881 blueray player, and MCD1100 SACD player. The units are 1 and 5 sixteenths of an inch in height. Perfect for my cabinet and the Mac gear. According to Wilson they are designed to set directly on the frame so it would be two on the front and one in the middle on the rear for each piece. Price is 2,225.00 per box and three units per box. Made of "V" material and of highest quality.
Best Charles p.s almost seems that Pedestals are made to fit under Mac gear. Raises the pieces only an additional 5/16". ____________________ Charles Updated System Most recent updates: AQ Diamond USB replaces AQ Coffee; Wilson Audio Specialties Alexx replaced by Wilson Audio Specialties XVX Chronosonic; new subwoofer crossover; new Galaxy Grey Thors Hammer Amps: McIntosh 1.25KW’s (3) set on floor on custom made cultured marble slabs Preamp and DAC: McIntosh D1100 Sources: McIntosh MCD1100 SACD player, MVP881 BR player, MVP851 DVD player, MR87 tuner, Marantz 510LV Laser Disc player, ASUS laptop USB (JRiver Media Center 23) Speakers: Wilson Audio Specialties XVX Chronosonic Sub-woofer: Wilson Audio Specialties Thor’s Hammer (1) horizontal lie and Wilson Watch Controller (abbr: WC) Cables main system: Audioquest Wel Signature speaker cables and balanced IC (preamp to amps); Wel Signature AES/EBU balanced digital IC for CD playback; Audioquest Diamond optical (1) for tuner, (1) for BR player, and (1) for LD player for total of (3); Diamond USB cable; McIntosh MCT cable for SACD playback; Dragon power cords (5 HC cords and 3 source cords for total of 8); Thunder HC power cord for tuner; cables for DVD player not listed Cables subwoofer system: Audioquest Redwood speaker cable (1); Wolf balanced subwoofer IC from WC to amp; Wind balanced IC from preamp to WC; Hurricane HC (2) and Dragon HC (1) power cords Power conditioners: Audioquest Niagara 7000 (1) and Niagara 5000 (3); (4) dedicated 20-amp lines with no. 10 wire straight out of fuse box Cabinet: Double Custom Woodwork & Design (CWD) solid walnut cabinet on large casters; holds all sources and preamp; also, Niagara 7000; 11 feet minimum distance from speakers Acoustic Treatments: Room and Echo Tunes AC: Dedicated to this room only, an ultra-high efficiency and quiet recently installed Ruud split system 3-ton heat pump. You should know that there are two versions of the Pedestal: Standard: 9lbs to 25lbs each Lightweight: 3lbs to 9 lbs each In order for them to work properly, the "spring" portion must engage. There is an indicator ring on the Pedestal (White on the standard, Gray on the Lightweight) so that you can confirm that the Pedestal is not under or over loaded. With the D1100 (26lbs) and the MVP881 (26lbs), you'll want the Lightweights. The MCD1100 (30.5lbs) you'll likely want a Standard set. I look forward to hearing what you think of them. Bill |

Sorry for the incorrect weight info. I googled and the weights posted were the results I got. Don't feel locked into three of one or three of the other. You may end up mixing versions for best results, especially given that a power supply might be disproportionately heavy relative to the rest of the unit. How you distribute them around the chassis matters. Playing with that will optimize performance. Have fun! Bill |

I never knew Wilson has gotten into the vibration control market. I do know that Stillpoints under McIntosh gear is a prerequisite in my house. They work incredibly well. I’m sure you will feel the same about your pedestals. Now, you simply must change out your rack. It’s time.

I've always wanted something under my Mac electronics. I wonder how Pedestals compare to Still Points? Any thoughts? The Pedestals have the "V" material. Does this make them better? I've never been much into vibration control, power conditioners, cords, thinking that just a well designed power conditioner, cord, IC's etc. was all that's needed. I looked up Still Points but couldn't understand the principles. My dealer sure has a nice display of Wilsons: XVX, Alexx, Alexia V2. Beautiful. I'd love to hear the Alexx vs the Alexia v2 but only had time to drop check off. I suppose I will never stop spending money until I have no more to spend. Dinner at Flemings tonight to celebrate.
