Lingenfelter Collection Charity Open House
Today Frank (Vetterdrummer) and I took a short trip over to see Ken Lingenfelter's private car collection. Once a year he opens the doors for Charity so the public can see is +150 collection of Corvette's, muscle cars and other exotics. Fortunately we arrived early and only waited a few minutes to make our donation and head inside. When we left about 90 minutes later the line line to enter serpentined for hundreds of feet and parking for visitors filled nearby lots and lined the narrow road on both sides up to a mile away.
If you are a Ferrari fan his collection includes: La Ferrari Enzo 288 GTO F40 559 GTO Ferrari FF Other exotics: Bugatti Veyron Ford GT Lamborghini Revention Shelby Series 1 Vector M12 Plenty of different Vette's from the early precursor of the Vette (Corvair prototype), a 53 and couple of 67 427's. Several GTO's. 442 HO's, a Grand National GNX. A original Shelby 350 and a '67GT 500. Hemi Cuda's, several unique Vette's and Camaro's . I can't forget the Olds Toranado's, Firebirds, Cord reproductions Will try and upload some phone pics shortly. Last edited by Still-One; 04-29-2017 at 03:03 PM. |

So what happens the day after you attend Lingenfelter's event? You open up the latest issue of Car and Driver that arrived a couple of days ago and find there is an article about how/who gets to purchase some of these rare exotics. Noted in the C&D article is Lingenfelter with his photo and one much better than my phone snapshot showing his LaFerrari, Enzo, F40 and 288GTO.
What are the odds? Last edited by Still-One; 04-30-2017 at 06:59 PM. |
