I auditioned the Liuto wood's prior to listening to the Cremona M's. They sounded great, so good in fact that I ordered a pair. Then to my financial detriment, I decided to give the Cremona's a listen. So long Liuto's, changed the order to the Cremona's.

Congrats!! I have not heard the Cremona M's but they will be a step up from the liuto

What was the main factor in the Cremona M you liked over the Liuto.... (I know these speakers are in different leagues but just curious)

At over twice the price of the Liutos, I would expect a sonic upgrade. Congrats on your purchase.

Hi All

Greetings from Hong Kong. Newbie here just would like to gather feedback from anyone that have the Liuto. My system consist of:
Pro-Ject RPM 5 (Analogue)
Wyred for Sound DAC1 (Digital)
Plinius 9100
Sonus Faber Liuto Monitor.

When the system is switched on with no sound (Volume = 0) I can hear soft hiss on the tweeters for both speakers. Is this normal?
Its still new speakers, bought from a dealer, special price, about 3 months old.

By the way the hiss is only able to be heard if i place my ear close to the tweeter. From my listening distance about 2.5 M away I cant hear it.

Just would like to ensure if this is normal.

Hi chimaera1982. I believe what you describe is perfectly normal. I have the exact same results with my Toy Towers and a Marantz receiver. I also experienced the same symptoms on every single one of my previous systems, with different brands at different price levels. Very, very faint "hiss", only audible through the tweeters when I place my ears next to them. Not audible at all from my listening position (6 feet). Google the symptoms and you'll find that you are not alone.

Welcome to the forum!
