Default I did it!

So I started with a full Mcintosh system, then took a detour to experience something else and now back to Mcintosh again.

I used to own the C2600, sold it and got a PS Audio BHK preamp and a DS DAC. I just ordered my C1100 today! I am going to give up on digital temporarily to finance this new purchase, and can't wait to to set it up when it's here.

This will be integrated into my system with 601's and newly acquired Focal Scala V2 speakers. Main source is a VPI Scout running through a JE Audio HP20 phono stage. I can't wait to try the C1100 MC phono stage and compare it to what I have.

Super excited!

You should be super excited. That’s one heck of a system. Congratulations!

Roy.......You made a good choice. The new McIntosh C1100 with the MC601's will light up those beautiful Focal Scala V2 speakers. Congratulations. Don't forget how much we like photos.

Congrats Killergurt, I found the C1100 paired with 601's to be an exceptional listening experience.

Congrats Killergout,
What were you impressions of the Direct stream Dac compared to the
C2600 Dac ? When and if you add a new Dac would you go with the matching
D1100 or PS audio?

Thank you. I found the PS Audio DS DAC to be significantly more revealing and rich in sound compared to the 2600 DAC. While the D1100 seems like the obvious pairing with the C1100, I actually don’t think that it is Mcintosh’s Forte. They don’t really excel in digital imo. Their digital products sound good but rarely get updated and also don’t support all the latest formats and resolutions (which is something that is important to me). When I am financially ready, I will add two more pieces: DAC and Streamer, which I can just keep upgrading over time separately from the C1100. I will consider the PS Audio DAC again but also have a few other options that I would most likely explore.
It’s going to be interesting spending the next few months with no digital setup.

C1100 is an awesome pre-amp! can't go wrong with it and its quiet a significant improvement vs the C2600.
