Fathom f113 Delivers Wednesday
Hot damn......the new JL Audio Fathom f113 sub will be here tomorrow (today actually). FedEx called and said they had 197 lbs. for me, "a speaker of some sort" the dispatcher said. lol.
The McIntosh XLS112 will be moved down to the Control Room of the studio tomorrow morning to make the spot in the main system for the new f113 sub. I am going to have fun playing with this.

I got a similar call from Bax Global when they were about to deliver my B460 Sub. The guy said he wasn't sure what it was, just that it was some sort of Audio equipment, and that it was "heavy"-about 180 lbs.
It arrived on a pallet and took me nearly two hours to get all the packing materials off of it. My whole house was full of packing materials that I had to get rid of. I should have taken some pictures of the mess! Pete

Pete.......It's probably going to be the same with the Fathom. I understand they bag the sub, then put it inside another plastic bag, then shoot expanding foam inside the shipping box so that the foam molds to the Fathom and the box. I'll bet its a challange to unpack.

US Blues.......I would be fibbing if I told you I was not impressed with the Gotham subs in THE ROOM, but I had been considering the f113 Fathom for some time before my visit to Ivan's home. One thing the visit did do was to kick the Fathom purchase into high gear.
It should be delivered in a few more hours.
