Question about PurePower 2000
I'm looking at power conditioners these days, and it looks like the PurePower 2000 is getting some nice mentions here. But it looks like everyone whose trying it out have amps with high power requirements, for which it seems to be eminently suitable. Should I consider this with a somewhat more modest Boulder 865 integrated amp, 150 w per channel? I'm reading that the 2000 is available in two versions with 120 v and 230 v respectively. Any comments which one would be more suitable for my system?
Thanks! Daniel

Daniel, if you are going to spend money, just get the 2000 and be done with it. The extra reserve will only help, not hurt and if you ever upgrade/change your amps, your power conditioner will handle the extra load. I am powering my whole theater with 4 Bryston amps and many other devices from a single 2000 unit and the dynamics during movies soundtracks are simply crushing at times. The PurePower 2000 keeps up without breaking sweat.

Thanks everyone for the comments. An additional consideration is that I'd like to plug in 5 things, including an external hard drive and a MBP, and the 1050 only has four outlets. I realize that in the case of Masterlu, I'm talking to a man who has 14+15 PPP's , but I think I only want one of these things.

I would get the PP2000. Not only it sounds better, but it also allows you to run from batteries for much longer. I run my system in battery mode ONLY, since it sounds much better this way.

Thanks guys, interesting comments. I contacted PurePower, and hadn't realized they're a local company, located just north of Toronto, where I live. They sell consumer direct in Canada (with nice discounts!) Their rep seemed to agree with Masterlu that I should get the 1050 (basically because it's cheaper and would be enough for the Boulder), and pointed out that the four outlets (which I noted from Masterlu's sheet) was only for the European version, the US version has 7 outlets.
So I'll have to think about this. Maybe I'll wait till after CES and see what else is available, and decide then. -- Daniel

PP2000 sounds better than PP1050, even if you run 200W loads (i.e. way below rated power of the smaller unit).

From everything I read online, PP 2000 sounds better than the 1050. But I've never heard one before, so can't personally comment on it.
